Participation over spectatorship

Hobity is designed for people who genuinely want to take part in hobbies, activities, communities, and shared experiences. The goal is meaningful connection and participation, not endless scrolling or fake engagement.

Be welcoming

Treat people respectfully regardless of ability level, background, experience, identity, appearance, or social status. Communities grow stronger when people feel included, encouraged, and safe to participate.

Keep activities genuine

Activities should reflect real plans, hobbies, sessions, meetups, trips, training, events, or shared experiences. Do not create misleading, fake, unsafe, illegal, or spam activities.

Respect community spaces

Communities should feel like trusted hobby hubs and local ecosystems. Do not use communities for harassment, manipulation, spam, scams, aggressive self-promotion, or creating hostile environments.

Respect consent and privacy

Be thoughtful when uploading photos or videos, tagging others, sharing Moments, or posting content involving other people. Respect personal boundaries, safety, consent, and privacy.

No harassment or abuse

Bullying, threats, intimidation, stalking, repeated unwanted contact, targeted abuse, discrimination, or behaviour intended to frighten, humiliate, or isolate another person is not permitted.

No nudity or sexual content

Nudity, sexual content, sexual solicitation, sexually explicit material, and content intended primarily for sexual gratification are not permitted on Hobity.

No graphic violence

Graphic injury, gore, cruelty, or content that glorifies severe real-world violence is not permitted. Hobby content involving hunting, combat sports, or similar activities must remain appropriate for a broad public social platform.

No hate speech or discrimination

Content or behaviour that attacks, dehumanises, excludes, or promotes hatred against people based on protected or personal characteristics is not allowed.

No illegal or dangerous behaviour

Illegal activity, exploitation, threats of violence, dangerous coordination, scams, malicious behaviour, or content that seriously risks harm to others is not allowed and may result in immediate account restriction or removal.

No impersonation or misleading behaviour

Do not impersonate others, create deceptive accounts, fake participation, manipulate trust systems, or intentionally mislead people about who you are or what you are organising.

No spam, scams, or manipulation

Repetitive unwanted promotion, fraudulent offers, misleading links, coordinated manipulation, abusive self-promotion, and attempts to deceive or exploit other users are prohibited.

Keep messaging respectful

Direct messages and group chats should support genuine communication around hobbies, activities, friendships, and communities. Spam, harassment, threats, scams, hate speech, and repeated unwanted messaging are not allowed.

Protect real-world safety

Use good judgement when meeting people, joining plans, travelling to locations, or participating in activities. If something feels unsafe, trust your instincts, leave the situation, and use Hobity’s reporting or blocking tools when needed.

Age-appropriate behaviour

Hobity is intended for users aged 17 years or older. Content, messages, activities, and communities should remain appropriate for a broad public social platform.

Trust should be earned positively

Hobity’s trust and reputation systems are intended to recognise positive participation, consistency, contribution, and community involvement. They must not be manipulated, abused, or treated as popularity contests.

Use reports responsibly

Reporting tools exist to help protect the community. False reports, malicious reporting, or abuse of moderation systems may result in action against your account.

Moderation and enforcement

Hobity may review reports, remove content, limit features, restrict accounts, suspend access, or permanently remove accounts where necessary to enforce these Guidelines and protect the community.

Businesses and hosts

Businesses, organisers, and activity hosts should be honest, clear, and responsible when creating activities or communicating with users. Verification does not replace good judgement, safety, or respectful behaviour.

Building a better culture

Hobity is meant to feel warm, human, social, adventurous, creative, and community-driven. The best communities are built by people who help others feel included, encouraged, safe, and excited to participate.

Contact and support
